What a metal shop, garage or carport costs
These are published list prices and estimate ranges, not quotes. Sellers change prices often, and freight, site work and options move the final number. Every figure below is labeled with where it came from.
Steel building packages and installed cost (national estimate)
BuildingsGuide, a national quote-matching site, publishes these prices as of October 2026 (BuildingsGuide metal building price guide (national, Oct 2026)):
| Item | Published figure |
|---|---|
| Steel package, 10 ft eave, materials only | $15 to $25 per sq ft |
| Installed with slab and erection | $24 to $45 per sq ft |
| 30x40 package | $24,000 |
| 40x60 package | $43,200 |
| 50x100 package | $75,000 |
| Interior finish for home or office use | $10 to $100+ per sq ft |
The same guide says delivery is quoted by the supplier, so the package figure is not a delivered price (BuildingsGuide metal building price guide (national, Oct 2026)). Treat these as national estimates; Oklahoma quotes can land above or below.
Starting prices from a seller that installs in Oklahoma

What quotes often leave out
- The concrete slab or piers, and any dirt work to level the pad.
- Permit fees, engineering for your exact site, and the drawings your city wants.
- Insulation, electrical, overhead door openers and gutters.
- Upgrades your city requires, such as painted panels, a steeper roof pitch or masonry on a street-facing wall. See the rules page.
